People ask me all the time if I can ‘Get the moisture out’.
The fact is I’m never on site long enough to do it.. So here’s a few things YOU can try if you’re ever faced with moisture inside the headlight.
- FIRST, Locate your breather tubes (at the back of the headlight) and check them for blockages.
- Remove your main headlight lamp from the housing and leave the car in a dry space for 1-2 days – This will allow air to flow in to dry up the moisture. (Best done when not using the car for a few days)
NOTE: You can speed up this process by directing WARM air in through the same lamp hole using a hair dryer on LOW HEAT, But use extreme care when doing this.
WARNING: NEVER blow HOT air from a heat gun or hair dryer directly onto the Lens of the headlight.. Polycarbonate plastic will craze and crack instantly when hit with direct heat.
